Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters, also known as Lazzara was born on February 28, 1948. She is an American singer, actress and children's book author. She has appeared on films, television, musical theatre , and solo shows, in addition to recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six years. Critically acknowledged as a Broadway performer, she has received seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honorary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She was awarded three. Four of the Broadway album of cast on which she has performed have been awarded Grammy Awards.
Peters is widely considered to be the most well-known interpreter for the work of Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
